All our staff are all highly qualified childcare professionals and most have many years of experience. A high percentage of the team are mums themselves. Whatever our backgrounds, we all enjoy getting to know the children and take great pride in their achievements.
Everyone at the nursery is expected to be a role model to the children, and we are therefore very careful about who we recruit to work with us. Our selection process is extremely thorough and we always take up references and carry out a Criminal Records Bureau check.
Career development is actively encouraged. Formal and informal internal training is the norm and staff often study for external qualifications in their own time.
Lindy Baldwin – Owner / Manager
Lindy opened her first nursery school in 1993 and took over The Old School House in 2003. Lindy is mother to three children – Henry, Bridey and Tabitha.
Qualifications: Montessori International Teaching Diploma (0 to 6 years).
Jules Gander – Deputy Manager
Qualifications: BA Professional Studies in Learning and Development, Early Years Professional, NVQ 3 and NVQ 4. Jules is also a qualified paediatric nurse with many years experience.
Sandra Korvin – Montessori Teacher
Qualifications: Montessori Teaching Diploma (2 to 6 years).
Amy Tolchard – Nursery Practitioner
Qualifications: Council for Awards in Children’s Care and Education Level 2 (Merit). Amy has also has many years experience as a nanny.
Megan Paterson – Nursery Practitioner
Qualifications: NVQ 2 and BTEC 1st certificate in childcare.
